We only teach in safe, suitable locations and conditions, and do not teach in winds over 25 mph. Our goal is to provide the safest, most educational lesson possible that will put you on the fast track to becoming a safe, independent kiter. An instructors priority is your safety and has the right to reschedule a lesson if conditions are not adequate for a beginner.
Booties are highly recommended at most launch sites in the area. You will be doing plenty of walking and standing in the water and also getting pulled around by the kite. Our riding spots have plenty of things that will cut you, including rocks, glass, shells, oyster beds, and stingrays. Pick up some neoprene booties with rubber soles, your feet will thank you for it!

Trainer Kite Lesson/ Practice $75.00
The trainer kite lesson is 2 hours and takes place on the beach. You will be flying a 2 line trainer kite that is 3 square meters and will give you a great introduction to flying a power kite. You will learn valuable skills and develop hand/ eye coordination and muscle memory that will help you progress more rapidly during your water training.
Much of this training is preparation for the Beginner water lesson, although it is not a requirement.
